Antioxidants deficiency and Free Radical Damage!
If you haven’t heard about Antioxidants and free radicals, you soon will. Researchers believe that cancer often starts when free radicals attack DNA. When DNA is damaged, cancer-causing chemicals may be produced which disrupt the cell’s normal processes. The normal cellular chemicals that regulate cellular growth and division are damaged allowing unregulated cellular growth, thus leading to cancer in some form.
The cell has a “self destruct” gene that is normally activated when the cell environment begins to degenerate. This cancer preventing activity is called Apoptosis. When it fails, uncontrolled cellular division takes place.
Antioxidants are critical to minimizing free radical damage.
